A lecture was organised for performing artists at the Peace and Unity Concert, Trek 2 recently held at Katsina State. One of the leading facilitator and Coordinator for the N.G.O, Centre for Sustainable Development and Communication Change (CSDCC) Musa Abdullahi Sufi delivered a lecture for the artist while having a round-table discussion with notable artists invited for the concert.
Mr. Musa Sufi touched on basically four different aspects which include peace, unity,tolerance and emotional intelligence. Other aspects touched include trust,disunity,poverty, violence, unemployment, security, selfish interest, tribalism, greed, conflicts, disharmony, ignorance, illiteracy and corruption.It was a very interactive session as there where contributions from various artist on different issues raised by the facilitator. Mr Sufi called on artists to use their songs and their talent to deliver qualitative and educative songs that will impact positively in the society. In other words, he called for artist to collaborate to produce songs that promotes peace and unity.
He talked about how artists can create opportunities for themselves by exploring the print/electronic media,shows/events,population for promotion of their work.
Artists present during the concert include Audu Boda, Drinking Master, Princess Aisha Mufida, and other Katsina home-based artists. Nomiis Gee, Ricqy Ultra, Dr Pure, Don R, Mamo, NexceZz, K-Arrowz, Whimz C, Rouxy Fresh and Tusleek where artists that were also present for the lecture representing Kano State.
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Katsina State on Special Duties, Hon. Tanimu Sada Sa'ad was present during the sensitization lecture and delivered a brief remark. He welcomed the guests into the state and however assured the invited artists that the Katsina State Government will make their stay a memorable one and called for the artists to be good ambassadors to the nation as a whole.
